for individuals with disabilities
at the University of Thessaly

Find out about all the different assessment methods for students with disabilities and/or special educational needs at the University of Thessaly!

Written exam:

  • I answer the exam questions only in writing.
  • I am examined in the same room as the other students, unless a different room is provided by the Individualized Needs and Support Plan.
  • If I am assessed in writing with an extension of time, then the extension can be up to 30 minutes depending on the nature of the course and after I have agreed that with the lecturer before the examination period.
  • If I am being assessed in writing using a computer, I must have borrowed the PC in time before the exam from the Accessibility Center.

Combined examination (oral and written):

  • I enter the same room as the other students.
  • I have time to prepare and take written notes on the exam paper they provide me.
  • I can use all the time available for everyone else during the written exam.
  • As soon as I finish the written exam, I ask the exam supervisor to accompany me to the lecturer’s office to take my oral exam.
  • During the oral exam I answer the same questions as in the written exam.
  • I can see my written notes during the oral exam.
  • During the oral examination, the teacher or another member of the department may act as a scribe.
  • Only my oral exam is graded! If there is a scribe, the answer recorded by the scribe is taken as the answer.

Oral exam:

I am examined in the lecturer’s office or in a place chosen by the lecturer.

  • Exam topics are given in both writing and orally.
  • I answer exam questions only orally.
  • During the oral examination, the lecturer or another member of the department may act as a scribe.
  • Only my oral exam is graded!
  • If there is a scribe, the answer recorded by the scribe is taken as the answer.
